Why I Became a Wedding Planner
A story of love, details, and creating unforgettable moments on Brač
There’s something deeply magical about weddings. Not just the dress, the flowers, or the view — although those are all beautiful. It’s something quieter, more powerful: that look between two people in love, that sudden rush of joy when the music starts, that laughter over a glass of wine under fairy lights. It’s a feeling.
And I knew, from from planning my own wedding, that I wanted to create that feeling for others — over and over again.
It started with a love for this island
I live on the island of Brač and I spent my childhood here, or at least I like to say that the sea raised me. This place isn’t just where I live — it’s part of who I am. The scent of pine trees after the rain, the sound of waves hitting the stone shore, the lavender fields, the golden sunsets, the secret coves… It’s a place that inspires love stories.
So when I started thinking abouat what I truly wanted to do in life, the answer was clear:
I wanted to help people experience this island the way I see it — through emotion, connection, and beauty.
Why weddings?
Weddings are one of the most personal, emotional, and meaningful events in someone’s life. To be trusted with such an important day — to help two people celebrate their love surrounded by their dearest ones — is an honor.
It’s not just about coordinating vendors or organizing a timeline. It’s about listening, understanding what makes a couple them, and turning their dreams into a real, tangible, beautiful celebration. It’s about the big picture and the tiniest details — the way the napkins are folded, the playlist during dinner, the scent of the flowers.
I became a wedding planner because I truly believe love should be celebrated in a way that feels authentic, joyful, and memorable — and I wanted to be the person who makes that happen.
From vision to reality
Some couples come to me with a clear vision. Others just know how they want to feel on their wedding day — relaxed, in love, surrounded by beauty, maybe dancing barefoot by the sea. My job is to listen, dream with them, and then take care of absolutely everything so they can just be present and enjoy. Whether it’s a small elopement on a quiet cliffside or a big celebration in a stone courtyard, every wedding is unique. And that’s what I love most: no two love stories are the same, so no two weddings should be either.
What keeps me going
The moment before the ceremony starts — when everyone is in their places, the music begins, and the bride or groom takes that first step — that’s when I remember exactly why I do this. Tears of joy, spontaneous hugs, grandparents dancing, children playing in flower crowns, toasts under the stars… these are the moments that stay with me long after the wedding is over. And the messages I receive after, when couples say “You made our day everything we dreamed of and more” — those words mean the world.
